Our journey
begins...
Enactus Capilano was born in 2016 out of a shared belief: that entrepreneurial action can be a powerful force for social good. From the very first year, our founding team of 16 students launched Counting on Action (now SquareOne), bringing financial literacy and sustainable-business education into local schools and empowering 180 young learners in our community.
Since then, our scope and impact have grown steadily. Over eight years and with a team of 26 dedicated student changemakers, we’ve developed four major projects — SquareOne, GreenBlog, U-Belong, and our newest initiative, Artsafe. Together, these projects address economic, environmental, social, and cultural wellbeing.
We’ve reached over 645 students with SquareOne, helping them understand credit and financial fundamentals; engaged 300 learners and entrepreneurs through the sustainability-focused GreenBlog while reducing 150lbs of food waste, supported over 200 individuals in mental health awareness via U-Belong, increasing knowledge and connection by 40%; and with Artsafe, launched in 2025, we are working to create safer, more inclusive spaces for artists and performers in our community.
Along the way, we’ve earned five trophies at the Enactus Canada Regional and National Exhibitions and built a culture of committed leadership and innovation. As we move forward, we continue to plant roots here at Capilano University and beyond — growing new projects, deepening partnerships, and inspiring more people to join us in co-creating a more sustainable, inclusive future.
